How Much Time the Pitchers Took | FanGraphs Baseball

A very interesting piece on which pitchers work fast and which ones work slow. Among the quick workers include new Toronto Blue Jays Mark Buehrle and R.A. Dickey, including these two games that I recall vividly from last season:

"It’s worth noting that Mark Buehrle and R.A. Dickey went head-to-head twice last season, on April 25 and September 22. The first game lasted two hours and 29 minutes, while the second game lasted two hours and 26 minutes. Last year’s average Marlins game lasted two hours and 57 minutes, while last year’s average Mets game lasted two hours and 56 minutes. That, of course, is with Buehrle and Dickey starts included. That would’ve been some nicely-tempoed baseball, between sometimes unwatchable teams."

SportsRadioInterviews.com posted some excerpts of Josh Johnson's radio interview with Dan LeBatard. The money quote:

"Where he was when he found out about being traded:

“I was actually upstairs with my kids playing and I went downstairs to check my phone and I had a bunch messages and calls from my agent and I called him back and he said ‘have you heard?’ I was like ‘what are you talking about?’ As soon as that happened I heard a bling on my phone, the MLB trade rumors and it says ‘Blue Jays close to acquiring Josh Johnson’ and I was like ‘I just did right now.’ He was like ‘yeah let me make some phone calls and see if it is for real or not’ and he did and here I am.”"

Jose Reyes a Toronto Blue Jay?

Joel Sherman thinks it's possible. As long as he doesn't go to the Yankees, I'd be fine with it.
